APPLICATION FOR CHANGE OF STUDY PROGRAMME
IMPORTANT NOTES

Students must obtain approval from the Hong Kong Immigration Department before changing their enrolled study programme. The application may only be approved if the applicant continues to meet the relevant requirements for studying in Hong Kong.

Generally, the HKU Admissions Office will forward the application to the Immigration Department within five working days (excluding the day of submission), after the applicant has submitted all required documents online to the HKU Visa application system (see the link below).

Normally, the Immigration Department takes about four to six weeks to process your application. You will be notified of the result by email if your application is successful.
LIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

A photocopy of an official Programme Transfer Letter

Copy of your (1) latest Visa/Entry permit and (2) the latest landing slip (if available)

A photocopy of passport/travel document pages showing your personal particulars

A copy of your Hong Kong Identity card

A copy of your HKU student card
*If you cannot provide the documents, please complete the Declaration of Missing Documents and upload it onto the system.
